We are wrapping up construction at Lawrence University in Wisconsin to renovate the second floor of the main campus library. The university is relocating their student services center, the Center for Academic Success, into the library to encourage engagement with the valuable educational resources and academic advisors.
Construction is wrapping up in East Midwood, Brooklyn to transform a former elementary school into the newest high school in the Urban Dove Team Charter School network. UD serves under-credited students failing out of the NYC School system by re-engaging them through a sports based curriculum that incorporates team building and youth development into academics to help students develop the skills they need to graduate, go to college and be successful in their careers.
Plaza and site work is complete at the Brooklyn Public Library’s newest branch: The Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center. When opened to the public, the library will provide over 15,000 square feet of space for patrons as well as additional landscaped, outdoor space on three levels.
We recently completed Design Development for a rooftop garden and playdeck in the West Village for St. Luke’s School. The project expands the school’s athletic offerings with a dedicated playcage for all students, enables outdoor learning experiences with a vertical garden and creates opportunities for experimentation with nature and the city in an outdoor classroom for students ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade.
As part of our national workplace contract with the GSA, we recently completed a feasibility study for the National Parks Service (NPS) that looked at possibilities surrounding the conversion of the historic Hoosac Stores warehouse at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston into a multi-use civic center to support the National Parks of Boston Visitor’s Center, administrative offices and USS Constitution Museum.
