Karen Fairbanks spoke at American Libraries Association’s Annual Conference in Washington DC on Monday. Karen was joined by Scott Bass, Provost Emeritus and Professor at American University, Nancy Davenport, University Librarian at American University, and Jen Brown, Dean of the Library and Academic Information Services at Barnard College, to talk about the role of the library in supporting student success on campus from three different perspectives. The panel was sponsored by the Buildings for College and University Libraries (BCUL) Committee at ALA.

Marble Fairbanks completes a master plan for Middlebury College’s Davis Family Library and Armstrong Science Library. This plan will provide the libraries with long-term strategies to adapt to the evolving academic and study space needs of students and the emerging research and teaching space needs of faculty and staff.
Working with Jewish Community Project Downtown (JCP), Marble Fairbanks is developing plans for expanding JCP’s current footprint in a new space where their community and mission can grow. Located in the heart of Tribeca, JCP’s new space will support an expanded program with a larger Early Childhood Center, dedicated space for K-12 after school programming and various event spaces that instigate collaboration and foster community for all ages.
