Yesterday marked an exciting milestone as we celebrated the groundbreaking at the National Parks of Boston Headquarters, formerly known as Building 107, in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The ceremony included remarks from Acting Deputy Secretary of the Interior, Laura Daniel-Davis, and a program outlining the restoration of the historic building. The groundbreaking ceremony was part of a larger tour of Boston, featuring sites funded through the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA).
We were honored to join the Acting Deputy Secretary of the Interior, National Parks of Boston staff, and members of the General Services Administration for this momentous occasion. We extend our gratitude to everyone involved in this project and look forward to sharing further updates as the renovation progresses.
Over the weekend, we hosted before-hours tours of Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center as part of OHNY Weekend. The tour was led by Jason Roberts, project architect, and offered a unique look into the 15,000 square foot community library and hub for environmental awareness, activism, and education.
As part of Marble Fairbanks’ IDIQ workplace contract with the General Services Administration (GSA), Organization Director Jason Roberts spoke as a panelist on two different GSA-led virtual roundtables earlier this year: “The Future Workplace in a Post-COVID-19 World” and the “Future of Workplace Forum with GSA Industry Partners.” Attendees included GSA employees from agencies across the nation and fellow panelists included representatives from offices such as AECOM, SmithGroup, Jacobs, Perkins & Will, and Gensler. Discussions focused on how workplace will change in a post-COVID era; how organizations can help ensure their staff will work efficiently and safely when they return; and, what some of the best practices are when pursuing workplace change.
