Colman Hall, a 25,000sf residence hall renovation, won a 2018 Society for American Architects, New York Council Design Award! Inspired by the neighboring industrial sites, the project introduces group lofts to the Lawrence University campus as well as a range of shared social spaces for lounging, studying, communal dining, and more. The panel was part of Democracy Lab at the Spacebuster, an inflatable pavilion presented by Brooklyn Public Library, Storefront for Art + Architecture, and others. Brooklyn Public Library hosted the official groundbreaking ceremony for Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center on Monday, October 23rd. In addition to Brooklyn Public Library’s President and project team, New York City and State officials, and representatives from the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund, we were also joined by students from P.S. 34 Green Stem club.
