In celebration of Women’s History Month, Karen spoke to Barnard College about why she decided to pursue architecture. Read the interview here.
Karen was honored as the Claire Tow Professor of Professional Practice in Architecture at Barnard earlier this academic year. She is one of 12 endowed chairs generously supported by the Tow Foundation.
Karen Fairbanks joined the AIA New York Chapter’s 2017 Board of Directors as Director for Educational Affairs. She previously served on the Scholarship Committee and as Co-Chair of the NYC AIA Design Awards Committee. A full list of this year’s Board can be found here.
Karen will be participating in the panel discussion “Where are Libraries Headed?” presented by Brooklyn Public Library and the Architectural League of New York at the Brooklyn Book Festival.
The event is this Sunday, 11am, at the Brooklyn Historical Society. It is free and open to the public, so we hope to see you there!
