Construction is well underway at Churchill House, home to Brown University’s department of Africana Studies, and Rites and Reason Theatre. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been returning to campus to view the progress of this fast-moving project. The steel is complete for the addition and all walls and floors are framed out in the interior of the existing building. We are working closely with the client and Shawmut Design & Construction as a design/build team to complete the project for the Fall, 2023 semester. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more updates!
Over the weekend, a crane filled the skyline around Saint Luke’s School to install the custom fabricated steel structure for the playcage on the roof of the building. The steel structure is the most recent addition to the soon-to-be rooftop recreational area. Just a few weeks ago, the roof was poured and the stairs were installed. We continue to partner with the General Services Administration and the National Parks Service on a variety of museum collection storage projects across the Northeast region – building on our work for a strategic plan to house, preserve and protect historic artifacts for future generations. We are also working on conceptual designs for over 95,000 square feet of space for the National Parks of Boston, the USS Constitution Museum, and a new Visitors Center at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston.
We are currently wrapping up construction documents on a residential project in Dutchess County, New York. The project includes the design of a new single-family residence with an artist studio sited on a south-facing forested hill. Working with MNLA as landscape architects, the team is committed to the stewardship of the natural environment while creating a unique experience for living, working, and playing. Materials and building systems are selected to meet rigorous sustainability goals.
